Regiment/Service:Mercantile Marine Steam Fishing Vessel “Strathord” (Scarborough)

Panel Reference: Memorial: Tower Hill Memorial

Additional Information: son of Edward and Jane Williamson, of 88, Longwestgate, Scarborough. Born at Hull.

CWGC record

Strathord was a 195 GRT steam fishing vessel completed in 1906 by Hall, Russell & Co. Ltd. for Aberdeen Steam Trawling And Fishing Co. From 1920 she was owned by Raincliffe Steam Trawling Co. and registered at Scarborough. On 23 February 1920 she was seen to be blown up by a mine by the crew of another fishing vessel.

There were no survivors.

Additional Information: son of the late John and Mary Warwick; husband of Annie Warwick (née Smith), of 6 Clarkson’s Buildings, Longwestgate, Scarborough. Born at Scarborough.

CWGC reference

Strathord was a 195 GRT steam fishing vessel completed in 1906 by Hall, Russell & Co. Ltd. for Aberdeen Steam Trawling And Fishing Co.
