Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough

25 February 2014 by Boro1418 Leave a Comment

Oliver’s Mount memorial is the official memorial for Scarborough. It is used on Remembrance Sunday each year for the Remembrance Ceremony.

It is an imposing monument and can be seen from most of the town quite clearly, high above to the south. These days, though, the mast is dwarfed by its bigger rivals, the television and radio masts.

There are some 700 names on the memorial commemorating those who were killed in the Great War. All will be listed on this website as we attempt to find out more about them.
