Regiment/Service: Mercantile Marine Steam Fishing vessel “Strathord” (Scarborough)

Commemorated on: Tower Hill Memorial

Additional Information: son of John Charles and Sarah Jane Morley.

CWGC record

Strathord was a 195 GRT steam fishing vessel completed in 1906 by Hall, Russell & Co. Ltd. for Aberdeen Steam Trawling And Fishing Co. From 1920 she was owned by Raincliffe Steam Trawling Co. and registered at Scarborough. On 23 February 1920 she was seen to be blown up by a mine by the crew of another fishing vessel.

There were no survivors.
